Flatstock 27

We’re excited to have a table at the upcoming Flatstock 27 at Bumbershoot Festival next weekend, Sept. 4-6th. It’s always a great hang with fellow poster peeps and an excuse to publicly drool over so much great art. Oh, and just to get this out of the way before it starts: No, we don’t have any Phish or Southern Culture On The Skids posters. Hope to see you all out there!

The Bonfire Sessions

Here’s a fun project we recently wrapped with the fine folks at Creature and JanSport. Catch the bus to see The Cave Singers – performing at an undisclosed location. A quick synopsis of the event:

‘This summer, JanSport presents the first installment of the Bonfire Sessions, a free concert series celebrating the epic memories that can only be made outdoors. Here’s how it works. The hidden location of the concert is kept secret until the day of the show. All August long, check in here at Unzipped , as well as Facebook and Twitter , to get clues about the band and where to hitch a ride on the 28th. We’re taking a mere two busloads of people, so you’ll want to stay on top of the bus stop spot. And get your best lining-up/dancing shoes on.’

The poster was designed in 2 sizes: 24″ x 36″ and 18″ x 24″. 8 colors, screen-printed.

Zakk Attakk

Check out your local newsstands now for the new issue of Revolver Magazine, featuring Zakk Wylde. We did the photo-illustration work for the cover and the feature, which meant many hours of cutting out little demon people to create the elaborate scenes. The cover image itself pays homage to recently deceased Frank Frazetta’s classic artwork.

Mastermind

Just wrapped up the artwork for the new Monster Magnet album “Mastermind”. The cover features the band’s mascot, the Bullgod (which graces several of the band’s covers) in a surrealistic painted style. See a short press release here.

Falling Down

Here’s our new poster for The National show at Marymoor Park on 9/11/10.

The Changing Of The Guard

Just wrapped up the artwork for Starflyer 59’s 12th album, “The Changing Of The Guard.” The music, as always, is incredible… and it’s always refreshing to work with Jason Martin, a guy who truly “gets it.”

Thicker Than Water

Just finished this poster for Vampire Weekend… couldn’t help but go the literal route for this one. Just too fun. Vampire meets piranha- a match made in Heaven.

The XX Cometh

Here’s our new (and early) poster for The XX show at The Paramount in September.

Gears Of War

Check out the cover we recently finished for our buddies The Showdown. The new record, Blood In The Gears, has a very gritty, Southern, biker sound to it, so that’s exactly what we went for. That’s me in the jacket, and there’s no Photoshop magic here- we had the back patch made just for the cover. Ride to live…

Speaking Of Hands

Here’s the cover for new Solid State band, To Speak Of Wolves’ debut release. Hands are still tough for me. I probably drew 15 pairs of hands before I felt like I got it right…

The National

national_poster

Here’s a look at our poster for The National, who will be performing at this year’s Sasquatch! Festival. These guys are a personal favorite of ours here at the office, and we anxiously await their new album later this year. Poster available soon-ish!

Gyroscope “Cohesion”

We just wrapped up the cover for ‘Cohesion’, the new album from Perth’s own Gyroscope. Listen to the album and pre-order here.

Demon Hunter Pre-Order!

dh_thorn_deluxe_contents

We just launched a pre-order for the new Demon Hunter record, The World Is A Thorn. Go here to see the different bundles being offered. The deluxe edition box is filled with goodies and there are some extra odds and ends that you can add for dirt cheap. Oh, and the music’s not too shabby either.

Young The Giant

Well, the new decade has officially started and we’re ramping up the iCal with some fun projects. We’re excited to be working with some great bands/artists this month. First up is our new cover for the upcoming Young The Giant (formerly The Jakes) album on Roadrunner Records. Great band. Check ‘em out here.

Curtis Clark Guitars

So, our dad is pretty cool. Cool for many reasons, but right now especially because he just launched Curtis Clark Guitars, his new blog showcasing his amazing (if we may say so ourselves) hand-crafted acoustic guitars. Dad’s an incredibly gifted woodworker, so naturally we were pretty excited when he decided to become a luthier. We’re proud of you, pops! Oh, you can also follow him on Twitter.

Here are 3 recently finished album covers. Had a lot of fun with all of these. All great records too!

Villains

Just wrapped up both (regular & special edition) packages for the new DevilDriver record. I’m a big fan of the band, so it was an honor to work with Dez and the guys.

I Am A Rock…

Just finished this shirt design for my good friend Will and his killer rock band, American Princes. If you’re going to Bonnaroo this year, be sure to check them out!

New(s)!

Spring has hit Seattle (well, a little) so we thought it’d be a good time to update you on what’s happening in IC world … and of course shamelessly plug ourselves all at the same time. We’re having a ton of fun at the shop lately, so why not share in the joy a little bit?

The Takeover interviewShort and sweet.

RBTL podcastThis was a lot of fun to do, but maybe I shouldn’t have had so much coffee before recording.

IC on TwitterSign up! Updated regularly with IC happenings and random pretentious garbage no one needs to know about. Oh, and this may soon take the place of ‘5 Things We’re Digging’. I wish it wasn’t so addictive, but it is.

Sasquatch! Festival - It’s coming up hot. Thankfully, we have a new set of limited edition screen-printed posters available to help celebrate its arrival. Coming soon.

Coalesce ‘OX’ This project was a blast in many ways, but I had no clue the band would want to feature the art on so many stinking cool pieces of merchandise. Icing on the cake. Limited edition (signed) art prints, a flask (with super cool box), quality hoodies and shirts, etc. Take that, Fugazi.

Having fun with new projects from Nike, Target, Wired, Devildriver, August Burns Red, Coalesce, The Not-It’s, KEXP, Brother Ali + Rhymesayers, etc. We’ll be showcasing these new projects (and much more) on our new website and store towards the end of August. Very excited to be working with the masterminds at Gridplane & Instrument.

There is much more to talk about, but not enough time to do so. Thanks to everyone who has made the IC blog a part of their daily RSS feeds. 6,500 and counting!

Oh, and special thanks to Cale Glendening for the above photo.
